Spainxp is a research initiative that explores the intersection between digital culture, society, and politics in the Iberian peninsula. While the initiative’s focus is on Spain, our interventions are in conversation with the cultures and criticism of Portugal, Hispanic and Lusophone Africa, and Latin America. This site is also a space in which to showcase applied, creative, and theoretical work in the digital humanities, and to interrogate what might be construed as the field of digital Iberian cultural studies. We are also a reading group that meets in NYC and Providence, RI to discuss current trends in experimental and digital Hispanic and Lusophone cultural production and scholarship. Email us if you would like to join our group or contribute to this site.
